Indoor bath
Two bathing halls, 'Ten-no-yu' (heaven) and 'Chi-no-yu' (earth), named after the old Chinese cosmology of a round heaven over a square earth; men and women swap between them weekly, so the bath you get depends on the week you visit. Rinse-in shampoo and body soap are provided in the bathrooms, and there are free hairdryers in the changing room. Mixed bathing is not allowed for children 120cm tall or aged 7 and over.

- In the centre of the Awara Onsen resort in Awara City, northern Fukui; the address is 4-305 Onsen, Awara. The nearest station is Awara-Yunomachi on the Echizen Railway, a short walk away, and Awara-Onsen Station on the JR Hokuriku line is a few minutes by bus or taxi. This is the public bathhouse of a resort that is otherwise almost entirely ryokan.
