The 17-metre rooftop open-air bath has nothing overhead and the place runs from 10:00 straight through to 9:00 the next morning, which makes it the obvious late-night option in Yumoto. Four on-site sources of alkaline simple water, but it is a big, busy operation on the edge of the town.

Large public baths on 7F (men) and 6F (women), open 10:00 to 9:00 the next morning; sauna closed 2:00-5:00. Indoor bath, lying-down bath, cold plunge and dry sauna. Alkaline simple spring from four on-site sources.

The 17-metre 'Tenku Dai-Rotenburo' sky open-air bath with nothing overhead, plus a round stone open-air bath in an arbour fed by free-flowing source water.

Private (kashikiri) bath

Private reservable baths in a fully enclosed space with free-flowing spring water, washing area, indoor bath and mist sauna. The official private-bath page does not state the fee, reservation method, or whether non-staying day visitors may book them.

Getting there: About a 12-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. A paid shuttle micro-bus (200 yen, junior-high age and above) circulates from the rotary in front of Hakone-Yumoto Station, and a taxi takes about 5 minutes. A car is not needed; 170 parking spaces are available.
