A municipal bath a few minutes from Higashi-Beppu Station, refitted in 2018 with a hot tub and a lukewarm one so you can choose a temperature. It stays open until 1:00 in the morning, which almost nothing else in the city does, though the district around it is residential rather than sightseeing.

Scored from official photos, maps and transport information — not from a visit.

The baths

Indoor bath

Two tubs since an October 2018 refit - a hot one (atsu-yu) and a lukewarm one (nuru-yu), so you can pick a temperature. Simple spring.
