On the old Yufuin road at the western edge of Beppu, with a rock-and-planting open-air bath that changes through the seasons. It is a municipal bathhouse with only a token place to sit afterwards and nothing else within walking distance, and the Beppu-Yufuin bus stops nearby so a car is not essential, though services are not frequent.
