Indoor bath
An old-style public bathhouse on Kawayu's strongly acidic sulphur water, taken straight from the source. This is the cheapest way to try Kawayu Onsen without booking a hotel.

- Getting there
- At 3-1 Kawayu Onsen in Teshikaga town. Note the trap: JR Kawayu-Onsen Station on the Senmo Main Line is about 10 minutes' drive from the hot-spring village, not in it, and bus connections are sparse - most visitors take a taxi or drive. Kawayu is roughly halfway between Lake Kussharo and Lake Mashu.
