An isolated inn on the Sea of Japan side of Kyoto Prefecture with an enormous open-air bath - room for around a hundred bathers at once - fed entirely by free-flowing source water with no recirculation. Day bathing is 600 yen and there is a canteen on site, but a car is effectively required to reach it.

Scored from official photos, maps and transport information — not from a visit.
