How it scores
Every onsen on this site is scored on the same five things.
The baths
Indoor bath
The draw is the water, not the view: the ryokan's own spring rises under the site without pumping at about 1,415 litres a minute and is piped straight into each tub with no recirculation, no reheating, no added water and no chlorination. The 'Kaki no Yu' bathhouse overflows so heavily the operator likens it to a river. The same water feeds the taps and showers, and you may take spring water home from the entrance.
