Nukumori no Yado Furukawa
ぬくもりの宿 ふる川 · Jozankei Onsen
Can you bathe here with a tattoo?
This is the question we built the site around, so we answer it per situation.
Visiting for the day
The tattoo policy is not stated publicly. Please contact the facility.
Staying overnight
The tattoo policy is not stated publicly. A private or in-room bath is available, which is often an option for tattooed guests.
How it scores
Every onsen on this site is scored on the same five things.
The baths
Indoor bath
Two large baths, 'Tsukiji no Yu' and 'Katen no Yu', both open to day visitors. A steam bath draws vapour straight off the source.
Open-air bath
The basement open-air bath 'Yu-Meimi' (500 yen, 15:00-23:00) is for staying guests only, and children are asked not to use it because it is run as a meditation bath.
Private (kashikiri) bath
Private baths on the 5th and 6th floors, 2,200 yen per room for 50 minutes, 12:00-24:00 and 6:00-10:00. The inn states explicitly that the private baths, the rock-sauna and Yu-Meimi are for staying guests only, so they are NOT a way in for a tattooed day visitor.
A private bath means nobody else is in the water with you — often the practical answer if the shared baths are closed to tattooed guests.
