The most polished inn in Yunohana: open-air baths facing the woods, and a private bath reached along a gravel path two or three minutes through the trees from the guest wing. A free shuttle runs from JR Kameoka but must be reserved, and day use is sold only as a lunch or dinner plan.

The baths

Open-air bath

Separate men's and women's open-air baths plus indoor baths. Overnight guests may use them from 15:00 through to 10:00 the next morning, all night.

Open to day visitors

Private (kashikiri) bath

'Yama no Kakure-yu', a private open-air bath a 2-3 minute walk from the guest wing along a gravel path through the woods. Reservation required; 45 minutes for 3,000 yen plus tax. Slots run from 11:30 to 21:00, and the day-use page tells lunch guests that a private bath is available too. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap and towels provided.

In-room bath

Six rooms have their own free-flowing open-air hot spring bath ('Sawarabi', 'Togasumi', 'Tsuki-oboro', 'Seiyu', 'Honami', 'Seoto'), and the 'Yama no An' category has rooms with an indoor hot spring bath. Day visitors cannot use guest rooms.

Overnight guests only

A private bath means nobody else is in the water with you — often the practical answer if the shared baths are closed to tattooed guests.

IMPORTANT: a bath-only visit is NOT accepted. The FAQ states plainly that they do not take bathing-only guests; day use means booking a meal-plus-onsen plan. The lunch plan starts at 7,150 yen per person (tax included); the version with Kameoka beef steak is from 8,950 yen. A dinner plan also exists. Guest rooms are normally not included with day use.

Getting there
JR Kameoka Station on the Sagano Line is about 20 minutes from Kyoto Station; the inn is about 8 km further on. A free shuttle (reservation required) takes about 20 minutes from the south exit of JR Kameoka Station or from Torokko Kameoka Station; a taxi takes about 15 minutes and costs roughly 4,000 yen. The local bus takes about 25 minutes but runs rarely. From Kansai Airport: Haruka limited express to Kyoto (about 1h30), then the Sagano Line.
