A plain municipal bathhouse about ten minutes south-west of Beppu Station, with a sodium bicarbonate spring that leaves the skin soft. An entrance ramp, no steps and handrails at the tub make it one of the easier city baths to get into, but there is no view and nowhere to sit afterwards.

Day visit price: ¥200
200 yen for adults (junior high school age and up), 100 yen for children, free under school age. Closed the 1st Tuesday of the month. Towel 300 yen, soap 150 yen, shampoo sachet 50 yen.
Staying overnight: No
Getting there: At 4-23 Tanoyu-cho, roughly a 10 minute walk south-west of JR Beppu Station. No parking of its own.
