The baths
Private (kashikiri) bath
Two reservation-only private rooms. 'Ao no Yu' is blue-toned and looks out on a small courtyard garden; 'Akane no Yu' is pink and violet. Weakly alkaline simple spring, clear and soft, with over 150 mg/L of metasilicic acid. The hot source is cooled by an in-house hinoki cypress cooling rig called 'Yumehinoki' that drops it to about 50C without adding water, so the water stays free-flowing with a faint cypress scent. This was a members-only co-operative bath until it reopened as a public family bath in 2021.
A private bath means nobody else is in the water with you — often the practical answer if the shared baths are closed to tattooed guests.

Book online by the day before; same-day bookings by phone until 15:30. Closing days are irregular. PayPay is the only cashless option; towels are sold on site.

- At 4-6 Tenman-cho, about a 10 minute walk from JR Beppu Station - one of the few private baths in Beppu you can reach on foot from the station. Has parking. Reservations on 070-1941-1126 or online.
